IN CODA alcuni link utili.

Come diciamo in Lakota, PILAMAYA – vi ringraziamo

Grandmother Madonna Thunder Hawk

This is Madonna Thunder Hawk, tribal liaison for the Lakota People’s Law Project. It is a privilege to connect with you by way of this email, and I thank you for the incredible support you have offered my people over the past eight months. I have been fighting for the rights of the Lakota, Nakota, and Dakota for over forty years.

Yesterday, as many of you already know, Chase Iron Eyes—Lakota People’s Law Project lead counsel and one of the most important spokespersons for our NoDAPL movement—was arrested along with 75 other Water Protectors. He was seized from Last Child’s Camp after militarized police conducted a raid on treaty land.

We need Chase’s important presence back in action. LPLP has set up a legal defense fund to free Chase and his fellow Water Protectors. Please donate today via this link. All monies will be used to represent the valiant warriors who have paid the price, on the front lines, of their freedom.

The authorities are up to their usual nasty tricks. Chase reports from inside jail that law enforcement has unfairly delayed the hearing process for the Water Protectors, allowing many to suffer in inhumane conditions—some left for too long in locked vehicles without access to restrooms.

Our DAPL struggle is the tip of the worldwide environmental spear. Our fight is the intersection of Native justice and environmental justice, and what happens here in the Dakotas profoundly impacts both the struggle to protect our planet and the struggle to safeguard the sovereignty of the First Nations—and our entire Human Family. The world is witnessing the critical role we indigenous people must play to protect our water and climate.

Please, brothers and sisters, contribute to our legal defense of the Water Protectors today, and/or share this action widely and liberally with your social media networks.
